Statement about your relation with Yamaha or your instrument:

My relationship with Yamaha is one of great trust. My Yamaha bassoon is my everyday companion, and I feel that it will respond perfectly at any moment. It is a solid instrument with a big, warm sound that allows me to perform very comfortably both when studying and in the orchestra.

How does your instrument help you in your daily life as an artist?

My bassoon gives me stability and comfort. Its projection, good intonation, and comfortable fingering allow me to work in the orchestra without limitations. It helps me perfectly express what I want to say through music.

How would you characterise your instrument?

What I would highlight most about my bassoon is its timbre and projection. Also its great dynamic range. It's a very good instrument for playing in an orchestra.

Who was your most influential teacher and is there any advice which you still follow?

Many musicians have influenced my musical career. From my teacher Salvador Aragó, with whom I began my career, to my teachers Gustavo Núñez and Francisco Alonso. I learned different but incredible things from each of them. They were crucial in helping me build and achieve my goals. And yes, I try to apply each and every piece of advice they gave me in my daily life and in my technique with my instrument and my reeds, because they are very valuable to me.

Advice for a young musician:

I could give a musician who is just starting their career a lot of advice... because you learn a lot as the years go by. But above all, I would tell them to be very patient and persistent. This is a very long and costly career and process that requires you to be mentally strong and work hard. I would tell them to be prepared for some very beautiful moments, and others not so beautiful, and that we learn much more from the latter than from the former.
