Yamaha Releases SWX3220-16TMs and SWX2322P-16MT with Support for 10 Gigabit and Multi-Gigabit Ethernet
Strengthening core networks in businesses, concert halls, and other sites has recently become a critical issue that demands action. Customers are looking to construct systems that deliver high-quality video and audio with low latency over IP networks. These switches, newly added to the 10G switch lineup, are ideal for enhancing medium-sized core networks that require high speeds and capacities.
Network traffic is also expected to grow in the professional audio market as data rates and channel counts for audio and video media continue to increase. By incorporating our new SWX3220-16TMs and SWX2322P-16MT models, systems can be configured with L2 switches that transmit audio and video media within single segments, as well as L3 switches to manage the increasing traffic of media spanning multiple segments.
10G Standard L3 Switch: SWX3220-16TMs
The SWX3220-16TMs supports LAN ports with high speeds exceeding 1 Gbps. Moreover, along with the multiple LAN ports of existing models, the SWX3220-16TMs adds 12 x SFP/SFP+ slots, allowing customers to select models based on receiving distance and channel requirements. This switch can be used both as a core switch and a distribution switch on medium-sized networks.
10G Intelligent L2 PoE Switch: SWX2322P-16MT
The SWX2322P-16MT supports LAN ports with high speeds exceeding 1 Gbps. Moreover, along with the multiple LAN ports of existing models, the SWX2322P-16MT adds SFP/SFP+ slots, allowing customers to select models based on receiving distance and channel requirements. Additionally, the SWX2322P-16MT supports the PoE++ function, providing both connectivity and power directly to IP cameras, video devices, and other equipment. This switch can be used both as a core switch and a distribution switch on medium-sized networks.
Save Time on Configuration and Troubleshooting
With one click, ProAV Settings in the Web GUI effortlessly assigns settings to ports for major ProAV profiles like Dante, NDI, and SDVoE, making it easier than ever to use both SDVoE and Dante on the same switch.
Additionally, the ProAV Settings screen in the Web GUI allows you to quickly check multicast settings and operations, enabling faster and easier design and troubleshooting in ProAV networks.
Support for PTPv2 TC Time Synchronization with Precision of 1 μsec or Less
The 10G switches support IEEE 1588 PTPv2 TC (Transparent Clock) delivering the high-precision time synchronization required for applications such as synchronized playback of audio and video media. Synchronization precision between devices of 1 μsec or less can be achieved, making these switches ideal for applications that require real-time performance.
Defense Against System Access by Unauthorized Devices
To ensure security, 10G switches are compatible with RADIUS servers. By combining switch MAC authentication with RADIUS server functions, all connected devices can be centrally managed, allowing only registered devices to connect. This feature prevents unauthorized individuals from compromising the audio and video network.
What is DANTE
Dante replaces heavy, expensive analog or multicore cabling with LAN cables such as CAT5e and CAT6.
Because Dante uses logical routing instead of physical point-to-point connections, the network can be configured using available ports with just a few clicks.
Systems with Dante can also be easily expanded.
Additionally, Dante supports redundancy configuration, ensuring reliability even in emergency situations.
What is SDVoE
SDVoE (Software Defined Video over Ethernet) is an international standard for the professional audio/video (ProAV) market that can transmit 4K high-definition video and audio over 10 Gigabit communications.
By combining SDVoE encoders/decoders and controllers with a 10 Gigabit switch, video walls and multi-view systems can be configured.
This provides flexible support for implementations of digital signage across a variety of facilities, including airports, schools, e-sports facilities, and corporations.
What is NDI Certified
These new Yamaha SWR and SWX series switches are one of the first hardware products globally to become NDI Certified in the network switch category.
This certification guarantees full compatibility with products from the NDI Certified ecosystem, even without requiring native NDI integration. Yamaha switches provide an effortless experience and high-quality connection within any NDI network and workflow.
NDI (Network Device Interface) is a groundbreaking video connectivity standard that enables seamless transmission of high-quality video, audio, and metadata over standard IP networks. By leveraging NDI technology, devices such as cameras, switchers, and media servers on the same network can automatically discover and connect with one another, eliminating the need for complex configurations or dedicated cabling.
This connectivity standard empowers producers to access and utilize a virtually unlimited number of video sources within their network, significantly enhancing the flexibility and scalability of live production workflows. Whether for live events, broadcasts, or post-production, NDI transforms traditional video production by seamlessly integrating all sources on the network.
