Isao Nakamura

Born in 1958 in Osaka, 8 year old Isao Nakamura played his debut on the traditional "Matsuri" drum at the Japanese Festival. He studied at the Tokyo University of the Arts and at the Hochschule für Musik in Freiburg. Many concert tours have brought him through Europe and the far East as soloist and chamber music partner of composers such as John Cage, Heinz Holliger, Toshio Hosokawa, Mauricio Kagel, Helmut Lachenmann, Hans Ulrich Lehmann, Luigi Nono or Karl-Heinz Stockhausen. Isao Nakamura has played with various orchestras and conductors: Lothar Zagrozek, Rupert Huber, Steven Sloane, Jonathan Stockhammer, Kasushi Ono, Ken Takaseki, the radio orchestras of the BR, WDR, SR, SWR, Stuttgart Opera, Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine, Orchestra Sinfonica Nationale della Rai , Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra and the Osaka Philharmonic Orchestra to name a few as well as appearing in many international festivals. In addition to many radio productions, his discography includes an album of works by Toshio Hosokawa (Tabibito, Sen VI, Die Lotus Blume - Stradivarius STR 33818) and the DVD "Ekstasis" by Dieter Schnebel (Wergo Muvi 200501).

With the korean pianist Kaya Han he established the "Duo Konflikt" in 1995. Their newest CD "Duo Konflikt" (editionzeitklang ez80010) features works dedicated to them. In 2006 he established Isao Nakamura Percussion Ensemble and in 2010 Isao Nakamura and Friends. Many works have been composed especially for him by Toshio Hosokawa, Klaus Huber, Peter Eötvös, Younghi Pagh Paan, Robert HP Platz, Gerhard Staebler, Nikolaus Richter de Vroe, Thomas Lauck , Bernfried Pröve among others. In 1986 he was awarded the Kranichsteiner Musikpreis, in 1992 the Aoyama Musikpreis Spezialpreis and in 2004 the Saji Keizo Prize. For many years Isao Nakamura has taught at the Internationalen Ferienkurse für Neue Musik in Darmstadt (1994-2006), Akiyoshidai International Contemporary Music Seminar and Festival in Japan (1991-1998) and is Professor at the Hochschule für Musik in Karlsruhe since 1992. Le Yu

Born in China. Graduated with the first International Artist Diploma in Solo Percussion from the Royal Northern College of Music, UK with a full scholarship. Le also holds Masters Degree of Music with Distinction and Honours Bachelor Degree of Music from the RNCM, He has worked with Dame Evelyn Glennie, Keiko Abe, Ian Wright, Eric Sammut and Simone Rebello among to others. Le has performed in front of the British Royal Family at the 60th Royal Over-seas League Competition Award Ceremony in London's Southbank Centre, where he has won the first prize of mixed ensemble category with his Aurora Percussion Duo, they have also won the Park Lane Group Competition. A year later they have been chosen by Yehudi Menuhin's Artists Agency "Live Music Now" to deliver exciting projects to special educational needs across the UK. Beside of chamber music he has also received many solo awards including Gold Medal at China National Percussion Competition; Winner of Italy International Percussion Competition Marimba Category B; The Best Percussion Award from World Brass In Concert with Brighouse and Rastrick Brass Band and First prize of Yamaha European Scholarship Competition 2012. As a concerto soloist, Le UK premiered Keiko Abe ‘The Wave’ Marimba Concerto with RNCM Symphony Orchestra and China Premiered with Xi’an Symphony Orchestra. He has also worked as a concerto soloist with Lucerne Symphony Orchestra, National Symphony Orchestra of Mexico, Manchester Camerata, BBC Singers and Shenyang Symphony Orchestra. Le performed live on BBC Radio 3, BBC Radio 2, BBC Manchester, European Television 4 and CCTV Music. Le was a Soloist of 2016 World Percussion Group giving Solo recitals, masterclasses and ensemble concerts across the USA. Since 2016, Le is a jury member of China National Percussion Competition and Southern Percussion International Tuned Percussion Competition in London. He is also an Artistic Advisor of Sichuan Percussion Ensemble in China. Le has been invited to give masterclasses at National Conservatory of Music Mexico, School of Arts Singapore, HongKong Academy for Performing Arts, China Central Conservatory of Music, ShenYang Conservatory of music, Xi'an Conservatory of Music, Eastern Illinois University, University of Texas San Antonio, Zhejiang Conservatory of music, Huddersfield University, Royal Northern College of Music, Purcell School and many more. Le is a Signature Artist of Encore Mallet. Inc. Sabian Artist and a Yamaha Artist. Currently he has been appointed as a Honorary Associated Artist at the Royal Northern College of Music and He is sponsored by the Arts Council England as an Exceptional Talent to work and live in the UK.

Guy Frisch

Guy Frisch

Guy Frisch began his musical studies at the Luxembourg Conservatory of Music before moving on to the Strasbourg Conservatory. Having completed his time at the Strasbourg Conservatory, Guy Frisch went on to study at the Royal Conservatory of the Hague where he passed the Master of Music degree. From then on, he has devoted his career to contemporary and improvised music and his musical repertoire includes works by Berio, Ferneyhough, Kagel, Lachenmann and Xenakis. In addition to this, Guy has also featured in creations by Campana, Donatoni, Dillon, Jarrell, Toeplitz, Matalon, Pauset, Mullenbach, Kerger, Reuter, among others. He has been actively involved in a number of projects with groups such as ö, Accroche Note, Le Quiproquo, and Bruits Défendus in France and with Alter Ego in Roma.
